Welcome to Motion Analysis and Editing using Hilbert-Huang Transform(HHT)!
In this website you can find researches based on the Hilbert-Huang Transform(HHT) for Motion Design.
Our work focuses on motion analysis and editing based on motion-capture data. It can help choreographers analyze dance motions. It can also help animators create a novel dance motion from several totally different dance styles.

What is the Hilbert-Huang Transform(HHT)?
Hilbert-Huang Transform(HHT) decomposes a chromatic signal into “monochromatic” signals that the so-called Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs) using Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) proposed by Huang et al (2014).
After applying the Hilbert Transform to each IMF, the instantaneous frequencies of the “monochromatic” signals can be obtained.
The HHT has advantage to analyze non-stationary and nonlinear signals like human joint motions over FFT or Wavelet transform.
